How do you mount the G7 snow chains?

1. Positioning. Park the vehicle on a flat, secure surface and use the hand brake. Extend the chains in front or behind the drive wheels.

2. Insert the flex cable. Run the flex cable behind the wheel and connect the ends above the tyre.

3. Chain distribution. Ensures a uniform distribution of the chain on the wheel tread.

4. External coupling. Connect the external coupling and secure the self-locking tensor.

5. Tensioning. Move forward a few meters, check and adjust the chain tension if necessary.

When are snow chains mandatory?

They are to be used on road sections indicated by local ordinances, generally between 15 November and 15 April, except in specific cases, or when you plan to travel on roads where the grip of winter tyres may not be sufficient.

How do I know if the machine is cateable?

To find out if your car is catenabile, first check the registration: some cars, especially those with wide tires or low trim, may not be. Make sure there is enough space between the tyre and wheel arch (at least 4-5 cm) and that the chains are compatible with your tyre size. Cars with four-wheel drive or low height may require thin chains, such as 7 mm or 9 mm. If you have any questions, ask a mechanic or contact us to check compatibility.

How do you know the size of snow chains?

Where do you put the snow chains on a 4x4?

On a 4x4 (all-wheel drive) vehicle, snow chains should preferably be mounted on all four wheels to ensure maximum traction and stability in snow or ice conditions. However, if you only have two chains, mount them on the front wheels if your car has a predominant front all-wheel drive, or on the rear wheels if the dominant traction is rear. Check the manual of your car for manufacturer’s specific instructions.

Who has 4 seasons tires is obliged to snow chains?

In Italy, those with M+S 4-season approved tyres are not obliged to wear snow chains during the winter period (15 November - 15 April) in areas subject to restrictions. If the tyres are not M+S approved, it is necessary to have chains on board in areas where the obligation is in force.

WARNING

Early installation. Install chains before entering snow or ice, so you can avoid difficulties and dangers when road conditions get worse.

Reduced speed. Once your snow chains are in place, do not exceed the recommended speed (usually 40-50 km/h) to avoid damage to the vehicle and the chains and to ensure safety while driving.

Removal on clean roads. Remove the chains when you get back on a road without snow or ice, as driving on the asphalt with chains can damage both the chains and the tyres.

Compatibility check. Make sure the chains are compatible with your tyre size and that the vehicle is suitable for use, following the manufacturer’s manual instructions.
